Responsibilities of a Shop Assistant:

* Greet and assist customers, responding to their queries and providing information about products

* Process sales transactions, handle customer payments, and operate a point-of-sale system

* Maintain a high level of store presentation, including visual merchandising, stock levels, and store cleanliness

* Receive, unpack, and stock merchandise, ensuring that stock levels are accurately recorded and reported

* Assist with inventory management, including stocktakes and stock transfers

* Provide product information and recommendations to customers, promoting sales and driving business growth

* Handle customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner

* Collaborate with other team members to achieve sales targets and store goals

* Participate in visual merchandising and window displays to promote products and drive sales

* Maintain a safe and secure working environment, adhering to health and safety policies and procedures

* Perform other duties as required, including cleaning, tidying, and restocking shelves.

As a retail shop assistant, you will be the face of the store, providing a high level of customer service and ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience. If you're interested in a career in retail, this role can be a great starting point.
