Accountant (Reporting)

Bulk Connections has an opportunity for an Accountant. This opportunity is based in Durban,

reporting to the Finance Director. The candidate must meet the following minimum criteria.

Minimum criteria:

• Newly Qualified Chartered Accountant

• Matric/Grade 12

• Financial Degree + 2 years working experience post articles

• Experience in operations or manufacturing environment will be advantageous

• Experience in reporting and consolidations will be advantageous

• Advanced computer literacy

• Excellent knowledge of financial systems e.g. Accpac

• Excellent knowledge of IFRS accounting standards

Main Purpose of the Job:

Ensure that sound financial management, reporting practices and applicable laws and

regulations are implemented and applied in the business. Ensures effective, accurate and

timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Participates and provides input in

business decision making, financial management and reporting of the business and ensure

the effective management of the financial team.

validity of transactions

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The successful candidate will inter alia engage in the following activities:

• Monthly Reporting and preparation of monthly pack to head office

• Monthly tax preparation and reconciliation

• Preparation of provisional tax and year-end tax return

• EMP201, EMP501, VAT, IRP6 and ITR14 tax payments upload on SARS eFilling

• Monthly payroll review and FNB payment upload

• Month end period close and roll forward on the financial system

• Opening of new GL accounts on financial system and link them to the reporting system

• Budget and Forecast upload onto the reporting system

• Year-end Accounting and Tax pack preparation and submission to head office

• Fixed Assets Management (Processing of Acquisitions and Disposals, Annual Review

of Useful lives, Annual Review of NIL Book Values, and Physical Verification)

• Fixed Assets Register Management (Accounting and Tax Register, Depreciation, Wear

and Tear and setting of depreciation and wear and tear rules on the fixed asset system

in line with the Income Tax Act)

• Preparation of fixed assets reconciliation

• Capital Work in Progress and Critical Spares reconciliation

• Review of Debtors and Creditors Masterfile changes

• Assist with BBBEE Input, ESG Input and Transformation report inputs

• Preparation of Insurance declaration

• Assist with internal and external audit requirements (Pulling out support documents for

any audit sample requests)
