We are seeking a strong GROUP FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT for our client, leaders in the plastics industry.

The above position has arisen in the Cape Town office based in Diep River (Southern Suburbs)

This role reports to the Group Financial Executive

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Issuing invoices
  • Preparing the month end accounts up to Management Accounts level
  • Investigating variances to budget
  • Overall reconciliation of the accounts to ensure that all costs and revenues have been accounted for
  • Preparing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
  • Releasing of payments in Standard Bank
  • Prepare for year end audit
  • Preparing Cash management interest calculation
  • Managing relevant areas of the annual budget

To be considered for this position candidates will need to meet the following criteria;

  • Accounting degree or equivalent with minimum 5 years' experience
  • Confident and independent person who is a fast learner
  • Being a team player
  • Ability to use own initiative and work with minimum supervision
  • Able to work flexible working hours (overtime when/if needed)
  • Able to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
  • A strong entrepreneurial ability
  • An ability to think logically
  • Be assertive and forthright
  • Be enthusiastic, positive and self-energised
  • Have strong relationship building skills
  • Be highly computer literate (Excel)
  • Xero experience and knowledge would be advantageous
  • A problem solver
