Draftsman

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License and no criminal record.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years' experience in Mechanical Draughting & Design within the mining and earthmoving industries.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, components, and systems.
• Proficient in welding and machining symbols, tolerances, and engineering standards.
• In-depth knowledge of platework and steelwork fabrication principles.
• Highly meticulous and detail-focused, ensuring accuracy and precision in all outputs.
• Proven ability to collaborate with Fabrication Workshop Supervisors, Boilermakers, Mechanical Foremen, Quality Control Officers, and PR Engineers.
• Proficiency in CAD software, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, and SigmaNEST.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Commitment to adhering to company standards and procedures at all times.

Qualification Requirements:

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
• Diploma in Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice (Draughting Diploma).
• Tertiary Technical Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (N4, N5 & N6) or equivalent.

Job Description:

• Produce accurate, detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings in accordance with engineering practices, project requirements, and Meano Engineering draughting procedures.
• Perform 3D modelling of existing equipment for reverse engineering purposes.
• Assist in the generation of Quality Control documentation and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
• Conduct vendor and client work inspections, material take-offs, and prepare Bills of Material and Material Cut Lists.
• Create accurate 3D models on SolidWorks and develop drawings for walk-in clients.
• Generate profiles for Profile Cutters and CNC Machines.
• Implement revisions and redesigns on all relevant drawings as required.
• Ensure strict adherence to Meano Engineering drawing standards and procedures and obtain all necessary drawing approvals and sign-offs.
• Compile and issue comprehensive document sets, including:
• Bill of Materials
• Cut Lists
• Bolt Lists
• Buy-out Lists
• Quality Control Checklists
• Transmittals
