Safripol, a leader in the plastics industry, is seeking a proactive Raw Material Logistics & Planning Leader to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for meticulously raw materials planning and logistics activities for the PET plant. Your expertise will ensure that our facilities run smoothly, meeting the highest standards of safety and reliability.

The Raw Material Logistics & Planning Leader is a person experienced in raw materials planning for our PET plant, who has the skills and knowledge to manage the inbound logistcs of the Raw Material and Demand Planning Process within the Durban facility according to the agreed requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors DEgree in Engineering ( Chemical ) / Supply Chain Management

5 years of experience in raw materials logistics and production planning in a chemical manufacturing industry

Exposure to shipping and forwarding activities with international suppliers and national ports

Good communication skills

Stochastic/LP modeling is an advantage

SAP experience

Microsoft office (proficient)

Duties & Responsibilities

Sales and Operational Planning

Raw Materials Planning

  • Planning and purchasing of all raw materials and packaging purchasing:
  • Responsible for all raw materials and packaging purchasing.
  • Proper forecasting, timeous reordering and executing replenishment strategies according to production forecast
  • Manage Shipping and Forwarding activities
  • Manage, review and monthly re-order requirements for Raw materials
  • Maintain agreed standards of stock in country vs managing working capital
  • Maintaining supplier relations

Final Product Planning

  • Manage supply demand balances
  • Plan to meet inventory set targets from S&OP based on performance of production and sales
  • Co-ordinate sales & demand planning meetings and manage agreed action points
  • Agree and confirm monthly sales allocation within S&OP
  • Close liaison with Inventory coordinator regarding estimated warehouse inventory levels

Systems

  • Manage & maintain production process within SAP
  • Linear programming experience in operating facility
  • Visualization tools and other planning tools

Monthly Reporting on the following:

  • Raw material Inventory
  • Raw material consumption vs bills of materials
  • Updating of S&D Balances
  • Raw materials stock count and reconciliation
