Job Purpose

To generate new business and grow the customer base for Affinity Health's insurance / health-cover products by making outbound calls, building relationships with prospective clients, and closing sales while meeting defined targets and maintaining high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound calls to prospective customers to introduce and sell Affinity Health's products and services (health cover, insurance products, etc.).
  • Meet and exceed telesales targets and performance metrics (volume of calls, conversion rates, revenue, etc.).
  • Handle objections and negotiate effectively to close sales.
  • Maintain and update accurate records of customer interactions, leads, sales, and follow-ups in the CRM system or sales database.
  • Provide potential customers with accurate information about products, cover options, benefits, terms & conditions.
  • Follow up on leads and nurture relationships in order to maximise conversion and retention.
  • Work collaboratively with the team and other stakeholders (e.g., operations, marketing, recruitment) to ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, regulatory requirements (such as the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act if applicable), and quality standards.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to improve product knowledge, sales skills and industry regulations.
  • Maintain professional telephone / call centre etiquette and uphold the company's brand and reputation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12) certificate or equivalent (non-negotiable). JobLink24+1
  • A minimum of 12 months' telesales experience (preferably in ­insurance, health insurance or financial services industry). JobLink24+1
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English (additional languages such as Afrikaans may be beneficial). JobLink24+1
  • Strong sales acumen, negotiation skills and an ability to handle objections.
  • Target­driven mindset, resilience and ability to work in a fast-paced call centre environment.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to use CRM systems and sales reporting tools.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

  • RE 5 qualification or equivalent insurance/financial services qualification (or working towards the DOFA list). JobLink24+1
  • Experience specifically in cold calling and outbound telesales campaigns. JobLink24+1
  • Knowledge of the health insurance market or related products.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong teamwork ethos and ability to adapt to change.

Working Conditions

  • Based in a call centre environment in Gauteng; full-time working hours applicable.
  • Performance will be closely monitored against KPIs and daily/weekly targets.
  • Basic salary plus commission/bonus structure (uncapped or based on performance) offering opportunity for high earnings. Adzuna+1
