Role Description

We are seeking an experienced
Credit Controller
to join our Finance Team. Reporting to the Accountant, this role ensures the efficient collection of the debtors' book, supports cash-flow optimisation, and establishes strong internal and external relationships to resolve queries timeously.

You will play a key role in maintaining an accurate debtor portfolio, identifying potential risks early, and supporting monthly financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture customer payments and perform accurate debtors' reconciliations.
  • Collect outstanding debts and resolve related queries promptly.
  • Allocate customer receipts timeously and follow up on unallocated deposits.
  • Contribute to debt-collection strategies and assist with reconciliations.
  • Analyse age analysis and prepare management reports.
  • Process requests for invoice reversals as required.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly debtor statements.
  • Maintain debtor documentation and files.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly reporting on outstanding debtors.
  • Handle internal and external client queries (statements, invoices, PO files, etc.).
  • Liaise with PMC Accounts teams on account queries.
  • Assist with invoice printing and customer statement distribution.
  • Support month-end forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Ensure debtor collections align with budgeted timeframes.

Qualifications

  • Credit Management Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum
    3 years' experience
    in a finance or credit control environment.
  • Strong debtor management and debt-collection ability.
  • Excellent reconciliation skills (including complex accounts).
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and methodical working style.
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to manage large data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal ability.
  • Highly organised, professional, and deadline-driven.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving mindset and structured work approach.
