Requirements

  • A relevant 3-year tertiary ICT qualification or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience in

Telecommunications Fibre Networks, Networking and

Knowledge of Monitoring/Event/Fault/Management

applications for Fibre/DWDM networks. Experience in

networking, network applications and in leading a vendor

or in-house Telecommunication teams would be an advantage.

  • Valid Code B driver's license

Key Performance Areas

  • Undertakes and lead technical activities within the Switching

Facilities and High Sites infrastructure maintenance and

repairs.

  • Provide quality supervision and control of maintenance and

repairs of the City's Fibre DWDM Network and Applications.

  • Ensure as-built information submitted accordingly for update;

ensure compliance with SOPs, policies and guidelines,

provide feedback to management.

  • Design Interpreting - Review and interpret the drawings/plans

specifying changes in records or as-built information

  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Fibre DWDM

network maintenance as well as contractors involved in the

supply and update of information in order to fulfil delivery

commitments of the section.

  • Provide support to project management and operations

management as required to ensure commitments are met

by City vendors
