Job Profile:

To supervise all boiler making activities on the shop floor, train and develop staff, take responsibility for safety on the shop floor and to implement new production aids.

Key Performance Areas:

1. Financial responsibilities

  • Ensure daily inspection of equipment and reporting of faulty equipment.
  • Minimising and reporting of wasteful expenditure on consumables; and
  • Report any vandalising of company property.

2. Stakeholders & Internal Processes

  • Interpret and correctly apply the boiler making activities from engineering detailed drawings, & specifications of the manufactured equipment or components to be manufactured.
  • Develop various components for tanks, pipes and vessels.
  • Verify availability and correct material to be used.
  • Ensure work is timely done in accordance with schedule.

3. Safety & Talent Excellence

  • Comply with Necsa's health and safety requirements and lead by example and attitude.
  • BBS observations and safety incidents. Promote a Nuclear Safety Culture within AM
  • Attend Quality training / awareness sessions and on-the-job training as scheduled.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Basic knowledge of fabrication equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Artisan Boilermaker with a relevant trade seal.

Experience:

  • At least six (6) years' experience in a similar workshop, ASME manufacturing environment and a proven track record in manufacture of vessels, tanks etc in accordance with the ASMEIII & ASME VIII requirements.
