Food Technologist

Babylonstoren is seeking a skilled and passionate Food Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will support product development and production by upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and innovation. The position is hands-on and factory-based, involving assistance with product trials, enforcement of GMP principles, and active contribution to the continuous improvement of our food processes and products.

Requirements

• A degree in Food Science or a related field.

• Minimum of two years' experience in food manufacturing.

• Comprehensive knowledge of risk analysis.

• Experience in new product development.

• Exposure to, or knowledge of, processing operations, including filtration, coning, processing, and cooperage.

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel).

• Strong supervisory skills and/or experience.

• Sound knowledge of HACCP and GMP principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all production lines to ensure efficient and high-quality output.

• Implement and maintain best practices to optimise product production.

• Assist with product trials in the factory.

• Review and establish product specifications.

• Enforce GMP principles.

• Conduct food safety training sessions for staff.

• Investigate and assist with customer complaints.

• Conduct risk assessments for new product lines and trials.

• Perform regular quality and hygiene checks.

• Serve on the HACCP team.

• Carry out any other related duties as required.
