The Opportunity

We're looking for a
Senior Mechanic / Motor Technician
to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will take a leading role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of trucks — particularly
Isuzu trucks
— to the highest operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced mechanical diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles, with a focus on
    Isuzu trucks
    and
    Iveco Turbodaily models
    .
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and scheduled services to minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Oversee and guide junior mechanics and workshop assistants, ensuring quality workmanship across the team.
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure all work complies with company standards and OEM specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with the Workshop Foreman and Operations team to prioritise repairs and ensure vehicle readiness for dispatch.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in fleet performance, safety, and cost efficiency.
  • Uphold Strata's standards of safety, reliability, and professionalism in every task.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic / Motor Technician (Trade Test essential).
  • Minimum
    5–7 years' experience
    working with
    heavy-duty vehicles
    , specifically
    Isuzu trucks
    .
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills using modern diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid driver's licence (EC licence advantageous).
  • Proven track record in managing or supervising workshop teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and occasional weekends when required.
