SU - Journalist

This is a full-time remote role for a Journalist at a growing U.S.-based company. The Journalist will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing engaging content for magazines and blogs across various topics, including Aviation, Boating, Marine, Travel, Astronomy, and other related commercial and hobbyist verticals. The role requires a mix of creativity, research skills, and a passion for the subjects to create high-quality articles that resonate with both enthusiasts and experts in these fields.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a journalist, writer, or content creator, preferably in the aviation, boating, marine, travel, astronomy, or similar industries.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex topics in an accessible and engaging way.
• A deep passion for the topics of aviation, boating, marine life, travel, and astronomy.
• Excellent research and fact-checking abilities to ensure the accuracy of all written content.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects efficiently.
• A degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Research, write, and edit articles on a variety of topics related to aviation, boating, marine, travel, astronomy, and other hobbyist or commercial verticals.
• Collaborate with editors to develop story ideas and content strategies.
• Conduct interviews with industry experts and enthusiasts to gather insights and perspectives for articles.
• Ensure content is SEO-optimized and follows the editorial guidelines set by the company.
• Create both short-form and long-form content for online and print publications.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and news to write timely and relevant articles.
• Work closely with the creative team to integrate multimedia (photos, videos) into articles.
• Maintain a consistent and engaging writing style that aligns with the company's voice.

Compensation:

R30,000 - R80,000 / month, depending on experience.
