Role Overview

IOTIn is seeking technically driven 
Embedded Systems Interns
 to assist in developing,

testing, and documenting firmware and embedded applications across a range of IoT

devices.

Interns will gain practical, hands-on experience working with 
C programming
, the 
Zephyr

RTOS toolchain
, and 
BLE-based IoT hardware
, while learning the fundamentals of

embedded design, PCB-level debugging, and system integration under the guidance of

senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain 
embedded firmware in C
 using the 
Zephyr RTOS
 and

related toolchains.

Assist in 
sensor integration
 (I²C, SPI, UART, ADC, GPIO) and 
BLE

communication
 (advertising, GATT/NUS services).

Read and interpret 
electronic schematics
, component datasheets, and PCB

layouts.

Participate in 
hardware bring-up
, 
troubleshooting
, and validation of custom

PCBs.

Conduct 
firmware testing
, log results, and provide detailed feedback to mentors.

Use lab equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers) for signal tracing

and debugging.

Maintain clean, well-commented code and follow version control practices using 
Git
.

Submit 
daily reports
 summarizing progress, testing outcomes, and challenges.

Document all assigned tasks and continuously update learning logs.

Minimum Technical Requirements

Currently studying or recently completed a 
National Diploma or Degree
 in

Electronics Engineering
, 
Computer Engineering
, or 
Mechatronics
.

Strong knowledge of 
C programming
 and understanding of embedded system

fundamentals (interrupts, timers, and peripherals).

Basic experience with 
Zephyr RTOS
, or similar real-time environments (FreeRTOS,

NuttX, etc.).

Understanding of 
microcontroller architectures
 (ARM Cortex-M preferred).

Ability to 
read and interpret schematics
, follow signal paths, and identify potential

hardware faults.

Familiarity with 
hardware debugging
 tools and techniques (oscilloscope,

multimeter, serial console).

Understanding of common 
communication protocols
: I²C, SPI, UART, and BLE.

Experience with 
CMake
, 
cross-compiling
, and embedded build environments.

Familiarity with 
Git
 or similar version control systems.

Reporting & Learning Expectations

Maintain 
daily progress logs
 with summaries of code changes, debugging actions,

and issues.

Attend scheduled technical stand-ups and mentor review sessions.

Keep an active 
learning log
 of new concepts, tools, and technologies encountered.

Demonstrate continuous improvement and ability to work independently with

minimal supervision.

Ensure all documentation and code contributions follow team standards.

Duration & Stipend

Duration:
 6–12 months (extension based on performance).

Working Hours:
 Maximum 40 hours per week (hybrid format).

Stipend:
 Market-related monthly stipend.
