What will you do?

Position purpose:

Position Purpose

To lead and provide tactical direction to the team and drive end to end processes across all channels to achieve a customer-centric business environment. Ensure that the business area is aligned to Medscheme and client schemes strategic objectives. Provide holistic care that is personalised and accessible, managing the journey end to end. Commit to our care charter striving to continuously make a positive difference. Build relationships and network across all stakeholders to achieve the strategic goals and objectives. Guide and support the personalised services provided with care focusing on the overall quality of interaction between our customers and the brand. Support the Product Owner in creating innovative product experiences, driving the Capability specific strategy, and collaborating with cross functional teams. Align Customer Experience (CX) strategies with company values, prioritize digital channels, and actively manage change. Oversee the product portfolio content, monitor risks, and support operational delivery within the specific product portfolio. Successfully deliver and implement solutions for managed care products and networks across multiple systems.

Key responsibilities:

The role encompasses managing and assisting with support for the 11 products in the Specialist space, as well as future product and strategy development.

Some key areas include:

  • Supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality and performance measurement tools.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, including actuarial analytics and operations, to support programmes and ensure strategic alignment
  • for key initiatives.
  • Acting as a liaison between the organisation and specialist societies, managing queries and facilitating regular meetings with
  • various societies and stake holders. Through this building and maintaining industry relationships.
  • Lead and manage the Specialist engagement programme, including strategy, engagements and reporting.
  • Working efficiently to ensure monitoring and reporting of programmes is timeous and accurate.
  • Support the Product Owner in identifying, developing, and implementing new value-based initiatives and programmes.

Manage and Maintain Operational Content:

  • Represent the business capability in the organisation's governance model.
  • Collaborate with solution capabilities and product owners to ensure operational content enables the implementation of all business strategies.
  • Manage and maintain consistency of all SOP's and Operational Resources by working collaboratively with capability owners and forums.
  • Attend and participate in all required forums in the governance model.Support all roles in the business model.

Quality and Risk Management

  • Lead the implementation of the Quality Management Framework with adherence to standards.

Enable and Drive Digital Transformation

  • Enable and embrace technology and attributes required in a Digital Environment.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead areas of improvement, innovation and solving for sustainable solutions through root cause analysis, lean six sigma methodologies and feedback loops.

Product Portfolio Development Support

  • Oversight and direction on product content creation. Conceptualization and development of product proposals. Assessment and review of received product proposals.
  • Support the function of Data Ownership for product related data. Ensure product content supports business strategies.

Support Internal Change required

  • Support the review of Resources, Processes, Systems (incl identification of digital transformation opportunities)
  • Oversight and direction to facilitate document updates and finalisation. Enable participative leadership.

Support and Monitor implementation

  • Business requirement delivery alignment, (incl input to testing scenarios alignment). Support operational, system and product deployment and ongoing maintenance. Product
  • Continuous Improvement: Perform industry research / trend and data analysis / benchmarking.
  • Perform scenario root cause analysis. Coordination of queries.

Relationship Management

  • Collaborate and manage all stakeholders proactively.
  • Understand your stakeholders needs.
  • Build and establish relationships at all levels with external partners and internal departments to ensure that timeous resolutions are found to any problems that may arise.
  • Develop, maintain and improve consistent client communication and engagements.

Perception Management

  • Support the business objectives and drive customer satisfaction through the required metrics.
  • Monitor trends and provide possible improvements.

Accountabilities

Continuous improvement:

  • Implement practical solutions that use the specialist and departmental systems and processes

  • Provide specialist input and recommendations to improve the efficiency, compliance and quality objectives related to the area of specialisation

  • Identify problems and develop and propose solutions to present to appropriate leader or stakeholders

  • Ensure day to day operational support required from area of specialisation is provided to enhance performance

Cost containment:

  • Support the identification, development and implementation of cost-effective processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost drivers related to area of specialisation

  • Continuously review cost / benefit and Return on Investment within area of specialization

Drive customer-centricity:

  • Maintain a high level of impact on other departments to support improved delivery

  • Continually increase understanding of client and stakeholder needs, satisfaction and service delivery

Knowledge management:

  • Ensure that adequate knowledge regarding specialisation is shared as required and maintained within the research library

  • Provide advice and / or training as required

  • Maintain, develop and implement specialist knowledge within the day to day operations of the organization

Maintain expertise level:

  • Be a member of related professional bodies

  • Ensure CPD (continual professional development) or similar accreditation requirements are met annually to ensure maintained specialist accreditation

Network key relationships:

  • Engage with and provide support to the established network of internal and external expert resources and partners

Specialist support to projects:

  • Provide Specialist expertise and ensure best practice related to specialisation is implemented in projects, when required

  • Conform to project management disciplines when participating in projects

  • Represent department or project on appropriate committees related to area of specialisation

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor (MBCHB). An associated public health or Business-related degree would be of value

Experience

  • 6 - 8years' experience including:
  • Experience in the Private Healthcare Industry as a whole.
  • Leadership and Management Experience, healthcare, or non-healthcare related.
