Data Engineer

We are looking for a strong Data Engineer who can take ownership of data solutions across Azure, SQL, and the Power Platform within the financial services industry. This role suits someone who is comfortable working across analytics, automation, and data engineering, and who can independently maintain and improve existing solutions. You should also have practical experience with Medallion Architecture and a solid understanding of the Ralph Kimball dimensional modelling method.

Responsibilities


• Build and maintain SQL based data models, stored procedures, and queries


• Design and deliver PowerBI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders


• Develop solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate to support workflows and analytics


• Manage and optimise Azure hosted databases and data services


• Support and improve data pipelines, data quality, and reliability across the environment


• Apply Medallion Architecture to structure data into Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers


• Use Ralph Kimball principles to design and enhance dimensional models used for reporting


• Work within ITSM processes for change control, incident management, and problem resolution


• Enhance existing solutions while ensuring stable and consistent performance

Requirements


• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases


• Solid experience across PowerBI, Power Apps, and Power Automate


• Azure experience, especially with data storage and data services


• Experience with Medallion Architecture patterns


• Understanding of Ralph Kimball's dimensional modelling approach


• Fabric experience is preferred but not required


• Good understanding of ITSM processes


• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and optimise existing solutions


• Strong communication and a proactive approach to problem solving

Financial Services experience advantageous
