We are seeking a suitably qualified Debtor's Clerk to oversee all branch debtor control functions within our Lewis Parow store (Shoprite Park). The ideal candidate needs to take ownership of all branch debtors book activities, collection strategies and targets. Ideal candidate would have solid experience in retail debtors follow up, collection, cash management and would have had exposure to customer service within the retail environment.

The role will:

  • Ensure excellent customer service by playing an active role in customer contact situations – thereby ensuring and maintaining healthy customer relationships
  • Manage as well as control financial, cash and collection targets within company accepted norms and balance this against business risk
  • Maintain and improve customer service, Bad Debt reduction, and manage business risk related to credit, and credit follow up
  • Ensure non-paying customers are minimized through compliance and with security measures when it comes to granting of credit
  • Ensure administrative duties within the store are in accordance with company guidelines (NCA & FAIS)
  • Able to adapt to various environments, and departments
  • Willing to work under pressure and work retail hours
  • Willing to work in the field and conduct PC's early in morning and after 5pm at night

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12 educational qualification
  • Minimum 2 years retail experience, preferably in the furniture retail industry
  • Computer literate
  • Professional telephone ethics and outstanding communicator
  • Strong Leadership abilities (2IC)
  • Management abilities – (2IC) Manage, lead, motivate, develop, and empower branch staff.

We require a tough-minded individual who is target driven, thrives on driving performance, and can juggle customer service while working in a high-pressure sales and credit control environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From R7 310,55 per month
