VP of Supply Chain & Finance 

Location: Remote (Preference for Western / Western-aligned time zones)

Compensation: Top-decile base + meaningful equity upside

The Role – In One Sentence

You own every penny that stays in the company and every unit that ships on time.

You are the financial and operational backbone of the brand — protecting cash, crushing COGS, and building a supply chain that can scale aggressively without breaking.

First 90 Days – Non-Negotiable Outcomes

If you don't get excited by these as hard requirements, this is not your role.

1. Full COGS Teardown → +10% (minimum) Margin Gain Locked

   • SKU-level margin analysis

   • Renegotiated terms, reformulated components, or restructured MOQs

   • Clear margin improvement plan with timelines and owners

2. Inventory & Demand Engine Built

   • Forecasting model that does not stock out and does not overbuy

   • Safety stock logic, reorder points, and exception alerts

   • Clear visibility across Amazon, DTC, and wholesale/other channels

3. Cash-Flow Model That Can Handle 3× Growth Without New Capital

   • 13-week rolling cash-flow forecast

   • Clear understanding of working capital needs at different revenue scales

   • Playbooks for "push" (growth mode) and "defend" (cash preservation) scenarios

4. Supplier & Co-Packer Landscape Upgraded

   • All key contracts reviewed, benchmarked, and either renegotiated or marked for replacement

   • Clear supplier scorecard (quality, reliability, cost, terms)

   • Strengthened redundancy and risk management in the supply chain

What You Own

You sit at the intersection of finance + supply chain + operations. Your world includes:

• Raw Material Sourcing & Vendor Relationships

  • Active negotiation on pricing, terms, and lead times

  • Global sourcing strategy aligned with quality, cost, and speed

• Manufacturing & Co-Packer Management

  • Capacity planning, line time, and production scheduling

  • QA/QA coordination and on-time, in-full execution

• Inventory Planning & Demand Forecasting

  • Channel-level demand forecasting (Amazon, DTC, retail/wholesale if applicable)

  • Stock levels, buffer strategies, and turns optimization

• COGS Destruction

  • Continuous cost-down programs without diluting quality

  • Reformulations, packaging optimizations, and logistics efficiencies

• Cash-Flow Modeling & Runway Protection

  • Tight grip on working capital, payables, receivables, and inventory financing

  • Scenario modeling (base, downside, aggressive growth)

• Core Financial & Compliance Infrastructure

  • POs, landed cost tracking, and unit economics

  • Coordination on compliance, tax positioning (with advisors), and cap table awareness

  • Partnering with bookkeeping/finance resources to maintain clean, decision-ready reporting

You are not a back-office number cruncher. You are a strategic operator who uses numbers to drive decisions in the real world.

Mandatory Prerequisites

No exceptions. We will verify.

1. You are (or were) a serious athlete.

   • Competitive background (sport, endurance, martial arts, etc.).

   • You train consistently and live a performance-driven lifestyle.

   • Health optimization is part of your identity, not a hobby.

2. You have personally helped scale a CPG/supplement or similar product brand from ~$5M → $30M+ while improving margins.

   • Direct involvement in supply chain + cost management.

   • You've seen the complexity that comes with growth and solved for it.

3. You have negotiated 20%+ cost reductions with suppliers without blowing up quality.

   • Real examples, real numbers, real outcomes.

4. You can read a P&L and balance sheet in your sleep.

   • Deep understanding of gross margin, contribution margin, and cash conversion.

   • You can connect line items to real-world operational levers.

How You'll Be Judged

You will be evaluated on hard, trackable outcomes, including:

• Gross Margin Improvement

  • Clear before/after, attributable to your decisions and negotiations.

• Zero Stockouts and Minimal Overstock Write-offs

  • High service levels without tying up unnecessary capital.

• Cash Conversion Cycle

  • Improved speed from cash out → cash in.

• Forecast Accuracy (±5%)

  • Demand and cash forecasts accurate enough to make bold but safe decisions.

This is not a "keep the lights on" job. This is a make the machine more powerful and more profitable job.
