Afrirent Auto is looking for a dedicated and experienced Trailer Technician to join our team at the Phoenix Depot. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the roadworthiness of our trailer fleet while adhering to company standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on side loaders, interlink, and dry freight semi-trailers according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure all trailers are roadworthy and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Perform brake tests, mechanical inspections, and report on findings.
  • Inspect and repair chassis, suspension, bearings, ABS systems, wiring, lights, and couplings.
  • Conduct condition reports on key components, including floors, protection bars, and load boxes.
  • Maintain accurate and complete job cards and documentation.
  • Adhere to SHEQ policies, housekeeping standards, and breakdown safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in trailer maintenance and repairs.
  • Ability to work independently and use own toolbox with relevant tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Henred, BPW, and Weweler systems.
  • Competent in mechanical, air suspension, and ABS repair work.
  • Computer literate – able to reprogram trailer modulators and ABS systems.
  • Familiar with SHEQ rules and safe working practices.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: R12 500,00 per month

Willingness to travel:
