At ABOUT CATS AND DOGS we are passionate about pets and dedicated to providing the best products and services for our furry friends and their owners.

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to work at our store in Paarl Mall, Paarl and help us deliver excellent customer service to pet lovers.

*Assist customers in finding the right products for their cats and dogs.

*Provide knowledgeable advice on pet care, nutrition, and product selection.

*Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including stocking shelves and arranging displays.

*Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our POS system.

*Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns with a positive attitude.

*Perform stock-taking duties and ensure accurate inventory counts.

*Place purchase orders and coordinate receiving stock deliveries.

*Perform administrative tasks.

*Daily cash-ups and banking.

*Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and promotions to assist customers effectively.

*Inventory management, including receiving and organizing stock.

Requirements:

*Passionate about people AND animals and a strong understanding of pet care.

*Previous retail or customer service experience

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

*Must be a fast learner.

*Excellent problem solver

*Excellent attendance record at previous employers

*Computer skills (Word, Excel, G-mail, Numerical skills)

*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

*Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.

*Excellent administrative skills and familiarity with inventory systems.

*Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

*Must be able to lift and carry up to 20kg, multiple times per day.

*Matric

*Reliable transport to and from work.

* English AND Afrikaans speaking.

* Reside in Paarl.

* Start date 1 December 2025 or as soon as possible.

*Training will be done in Durbanville or Stellenbosch on some days.

*Minimum paid hours per month are 195, this is a permanent position.
