We are urgently seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to lead the setup, optimization, and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases in a High Availability (HA) configuration for the Thingworx IoT platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in relational database clustering, failover validation, and performance tuning, with a strong understanding of Pgpool-II, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, and Thingworx architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in HA clusters.
Deploy and manage Pgpool-II for load balancing and failover.
Validate all failover configurations prior to production rollout.
Monitor database health, performance, and availability using appropriate tools.
Perform regular database backups and ensure recovery readiness.
Troubleshoot database issues and implement corrective actions.
Optimize query performance and system resource utilization.
Collaborate with Thingworx platform engineers to ensure seamless integration.
Maintain documentation for architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Ensure compliance with Thingworx HA recommendations and security standards.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in administering PostgreSQL in HA environments.
Strong knowledge of Pgpool-II, clustering, and replication strategies.
Familiarity with Thingworx platform architecture and database dependencies.
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 or similar Linux distributions.
Solid understanding of relational database principles and performance tuning.
Ability to validate and test failover scenarios in staging and production.
Experience with other HA-capable databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, InfluxDB) is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
