Job Summary

The Communications Officer develops and implements strategic communication initiatives that strengthen Mediscor's brand presence and reputation across all stakeholders. This role focuses on business-to-business (B2B) communication, ensuring Mediscor's value proposition, expertise, and service excellence are clearly

conveyed to medical schemes, administrators, healthcare providers, and all relevant partners

Key Performance Areas:

Communication Strategy & Brand Management


• Develop, implement, and annually update Mediscor's corporate communication strategy in alignment with business goals.


• Maintain consistent brand identity and messaging across all communication platforms and business units.


• Serve as a communication advisor to the CEO, Directors, and management, and team ensuring alignment with corporate positioning.


• Collating reports and presentations summarising communication performance and brand initiatives

Content Development & Communication Management


• Plan, write, and manage all corporate, client, and patient-facing communication — including newsletters, LinkedIn, Facebook updates, limited internal announcements, company website content, and educational materials.


• Develop and maintain consistent messaging for all Mediscor entities, ensuring tone and brand alignment across Mediscor, HaloCare, and Mediscor International.


• Lead the creation of health education communication for funder clients, focusing on topics such as chronic condition management, diabetes education, and overall wellness (HaloCare).
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and data teams to translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences.


• Ensure all communication complies with regulatory standards not limited to, POPIA, GDPR, CMS requirements and maintains factual accuracy.


• Track, evaluate, and report on communication performance using metrics such as reach, engagement, and advertising value equivalent (AVE).

Corporate & Client Relationship Management


• Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, clients, and media representatives to enhance Mediscor's corporate visibility.


• Identify opportunities to position Mediscor as a company of choice and thought leader within the healthcare and PBM industries.


• Communicate proactively with clients about company developments, innovations, and services.


• Develop professional, brand-aligned client proposals, presentations, and

corporate materials.


• Provide communication and marketing support for Mediscor International and HaloCare, ensuring cultural and regional alignment.

Tender & Proposal Coordination


• Manage and coordinate the Mediscor Group tender process from inception to submission, including attending briefing sessions, drafting responses, and ensuring compliance with deadlines and specifications.


• Design and compile tender documents, client proposals, and executive summaries.


• Liaise with cross-functional teams to gather accurate technical and financial input for submissions.

Events & Stakeholder Engagement


• Offer support to events coordinator for internal and external corporate events, including industry conferences, exhibitions, client workshops, and company functions.


• Offer support to events coordinator in managing event logistics, collateral, and post-event follow-up reporting.


• Represent Mediscor at relevant industry events to build brand presence and stakeholder relationships.
Internal Communication & Employee Engagement


• Support the team in strengthening internal communication channels to promote transparency, collaboration, and culture alignment.


• Support development of internal newsletters, staff announcements, and employee engagement communication.


• Contribute to employer branding initiatives showcasing Mediscor as an employer of choice.

Experience and Qualifications required


• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field


• 5 years of experience in corporate communications,


• Experience in healthcare, medical scheme, or pharmaceutical sectors (advantageous)


• Strong strategic writing and editing skills across multiple formats (corporate, technical, client-facing, educational).


• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple brands or business units simultaneously.


• Experience collating tenders, presentations, and proposal submissions.


• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiar with basic design or collaboration tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, InDesign, SharePoint).

• Willing to travel nationally as and when required.
