For Traderoot Africa, the Value-added reseller (VAR) of Traderoot, a Project Manager is responsible for overseeing software projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery to production. The role involves managing and motivating software developers and Delivery team members, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring all project milestones are achieved within budget and scope.

Key Responsibilities

Key focus areas include:

· Agreeing on and creating project plans.

· Monitoring project budgets (financial milestones) and schedules (development and delivery milestones).

· Dividing projects into actionable tasks and coordinating cross-team activities.

· Managing stakeholder expectations and maintaining clear communication.

· Following governance standards and ensuring quality and compliance.

· Identifying, monitoring, and mitigating project risks.

· Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation and reports.

· Assisting with quotations and managing client satisfaction during transitions.

· Conducting project closure activities and post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

Skills, Work Experience, and Competencies

· Proven experience managing multiple software development projects simultaneously.

· Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

· Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and project delivery methodologies.

· Financial and analytical skills for managing budgets and forecasts.

· Leadership and motivational skills to guide cross-functional teams effectively.

· Problem-solving orientation with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

· A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

· Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in software project management.

· Experience in client-facing environments within the financial technology or related industry will be advantageous.

· Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum or Waterfall.

· Strong reporting and documentation skills.
