· Coordinate and communicate regularly with QS team and project team subcontractors to ensure commercial controls are in place, understood and always followed.

· Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project success.

· Prepare monthly cost reports and cash flow projections,

· Evaluate and advise Clients professional teams on contractual cost and time claims.

· Oversee cost management, estimating, and procurement processes in projects.

· Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenditure.

· Prepare cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required, and labour involved.

· Prepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, which involve liaising with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

· Prepare detailed cost plans, elemental estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.

· Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors.

· Monitor and keep track of project progress and be responsible for the measurements, interim payments, and where necessary preparation of variations during the contract.

· Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.

· Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow projection and final accounts.

· Evaluate and advice clients and professional teams on contractual cost & time claims.

Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor's degree or B.Tech in Quantity Surveying

· Minimum 5-10 years of Quantity Surveying-related experience in consulting post-qualification

· Proficient in using software and tools such as DimensionX, Win Qs, Microsoft Excel, estimating software and working knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the built environment in a consulting firm

· Understanding of standard building Contracts (JBCC, NEC, GCC)

· Professional registration with SACQSP will be an added advantage.
