Mechanical Engineer – Highpoint Industrial (Sasolburg Branch)

Salary: R40,000 – R45,000 per month

Location: Sasolburg, Free State

Our Sasolburg branch is growing fast, and we're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who's not afraid to get their hands dirty and talk to people while doing it.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Oversee and improve the performance of Highpoint's vacuum product line.
  • Handle mechanical design tweaks, performance testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Liaise directly with clients — you'll be their technical go-to when it comes to product application and support.
  • Manage a small technical team (yes, humans) to ensure builds and maintenance go to plan.
  • Collaborate with sales and service teams to make sure our solutions actually solve problems.
  • Occasionally venture into the field to see your machines in action (bring boots, not just spreadsheets).

You'll Fit Right In If You:

  • Have a Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma (BEng/BTech).
  • Have 3+ years of mechanical or product engineering experience.
  • Know your way around pumps, hydraulics, and vacuum systems.
  • Communicate clearly — both with clients and colleagues.
  • Can balance technical work with a bit of people management.
  • Don't panic when a wrench and a spreadsheet are in the same sentence.
