Responsible Pharmacist

A well-established independent community pharmacy in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town is in search of an experienced Responsible Pharmacist with at least 5 years experience in a management role.

The candidate is expected to be hard-working and vibrant and be prepared to manage and work alongside a dispensary team operating in a fast-paced, dynamic and professional working environment.

The business is well respected in the community, servicing clients with high expectations of professionalism and excellent customer service at all times.

Requirements

Qualifications - BPharm and SAPC registered with relevant experience.

Experience and Knowledge -

• Proven experience as a Responsible or Managing Pharmacist.
• Familiar with all tasks and responsibilities expected of a Responsible Pharmacist per the SAPC.
• Ability to work in a management structure alongside the store manager, operate independently as appropriate, and as part of the team.
• Be comfortable dealing with management and responsibilities within the business, liaising with stakeholders and suppliers, and ability to maintain relentless client focus in a busy environment.
• Propharm/Rx Pro experience is essential.

Skills and Attributes

• Comfortable in a management role in a community pharmacy, understanding business and pharmacological principles and general pharmaceutical care.
• SAPC Regulatory compliance as required of a Responsible Pharmacist.
• Ability to maintain the pharmacy's A-Grading from Council is non-negotiable.
• Familiar with drawing up and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain a constant cycle of self-inspection as per SAPC guidelines.
• Decision-making skills as an individual and part of a dynamic team.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Facilitate in the hiring of new staff and their ongoing professional development.
• Facilitate in-service and external training of dispensary staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication.
• Computer literate e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
• Professional, ethical, well presented and focused.
