Chemical Engineer
to join our team at the
Secunda branch

Role Overview

The Chemical Engineer will play a pivotal role by performing chemical analysis and detailed investigations relating to in-process manufacture or laboratory testing. They will also be involved in research and development work. The incumbent will need to prepare detailed reports on the findings and makes recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will need to perform the following tasks:

• Chemical dosage advisory
• Conduct analytical test/acid strength
• Site visits
• Sites identification that are running
• Analysis reporting
• Titration analysis
• PH determination analysis
• Correct chemical dosage implementation
• Monthly reports to be submitted on all areas of responsibility
• Monthly reports regarding risk assessment and cost control
• Chemical usage review
• Responsible for the implementation and control of the branch chemical usage budget
• Responsible for the chemical usage administration to ensure maximum costs savings are achieved
• Cost control
• Stock usage control to minimize costs
• Risk assessment and reporting
• Estimation of job costs with regards to chemical usage
• Drive the Company's' Zero Harm policy within your area of operations
• Compliance with all health & safety requirements in line with the company's OHS policies & procedures
• Work within the ISO frameworks and other required by Clients
• Ensure all SHEQ policies and requirements are upheld and met
• Ensure SHEQ site file is implemented and maintained
• Must be willing to travel locally and cross border

ADHOC

• Any other reasonable adhoc duty as required or requested by management
• It should be noted that individuals may need to expand their roles / scope to cover the work load of other employees in times of high workloads or individuals whom may be absent from work. This is the sole discretion of management

• Knowledge and experience supported by a proven track record of the chemical industry
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Plant knowledge and experience
• Self-starter
• Systematic and controller of information
• Ability to work under pressure

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BTech in Chemical Engineering
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in same or similar position
• Experience in titrimetric analysis, laboratory and cost control
• Valid driver license and passport
• Must be willing to travel locally and cross border
