Role Description

EQ4 is seeking a dynamic and skilled Mid-Junior Web Developer & Digital Ops Specialist.

This individual will not only handle development (front-end and back-end) but also contribute creatively to website concept ideation and UX/UI design. You will play a key role in ensuring that all EQ4 and client websites are visually appealing, high-performing, compliant, and regularly updated.

You will also troubleshoot minor web or hosting issues, perform basic site optimisations, and offer tech-savvy guidance on digital enhancements. This role reports into the strategic leads and works closely with EQ4's creative, content, and campaign teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, and manage websites across multiple platforms (WordPress preferred).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve web-related technical issues (hosting, loading errors, email routing).

  • Collaborate on creative website concepts and execute on visual design directions.

  • Implement SEO basics and optimise performance (page speed, mobile responsiveness, etc.).

  • Ensure website content is up-to-date and aligned with brand tone and project timelines.

  • Maintain backups, plugins, SSL, and website security basics.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–3 years' experience in web development and design.

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress (and possibly Elementor or similar CMS tools).

  • Experience in both front-end and back-end development environments.

  • Creative eye with an understanding of modern UX/UI best practices.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced creative team.

  • Understanding of SEO, analytics tools, and website performance metrics is a plus.

  • Tech-savvy with the ability to self-solve minor hosting and IT-related issues.

Reporting Line

This role will report into EQ4's Digital Strategist or other senior team leads, depending on the project.

Remuneration

R10,000 - R12,500 per month (Cost to Company).
