Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Laboratory Manager role based in Durban. The Laboratory Manager will oversee daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with quality control standards and maintaining the functionality of laboratory equipment. Responsibilities include supervising testing and analysis, managing research and development activities, ensuring accurate documentation, and implementing laboratory improvements. The role also involves coordinating staff assignments, maintaining safety protocols, and liaising with clients to meet project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Quality Control practices and procedures.
  • Experience with Laboratory Equipment and strong Laboratory Skills.
  • Strong Analytical Skills and accuracy in data interpretation and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with Research and Development (R&D) related to bituminous road materials testing.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills for effective team and project management.
  • Sound knowledge of asphalt paving materials and road construction practices is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil/material engineering, laboratory technology, or a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience working in ISO or SANAS accredited environments is highly desirable.
