Job Purpose

To maximise the utilisation of the Market and control the activities of the Market.

This post reports to SENIOR MARKET OFFICER.

Key Responsibility Areas
  • Controls the operation of traders within their demarcated space and attends to public/trader queries/conflicts and takes appropriate action.
  • Identifies and reports maintenance and defects.
  • Maintains a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at the Market.
  • Maintains a safe and secure environment at the Market, checking that guards are properly equipped and are at their designated posts.
  • Undertakes cashiering functions.

Essential Requirements
  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent and an Administrative Certificate.
  • 3 years relevant experience
