Are you an experienced
Fund Accountant
with a strong background in
employee benefits, retirement funds, or umbrella fund accounting
? We're seeking a results-driven professional who thrives in a high-performance environment to join a leading player in the retirement fund administration industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full fund accounting function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Oversee
    banking and cashflow management
    , including reconciliations and forecasting.
  • Prepare and review
    fund accounts, GL reconciliations, and working papers
    .
  • Liaise with
    investment managers, brokers, and custodians
    to ensure accurate investment and disinvestment processes.
  • Handle
    SARS submissions
    (EMP201 and biannual reconciliations).
  • Support
    audit preparation
    , annual financial statements, and FSCA submissions.
  • Prepare data for
    actuarial valuations
    and implement recommendations.
  • Produce
    monthly management accounts
    , cashflow reports, budgets, and compliance reports (including Reg 28).

Applicants must have the following requirements:

  • A
    Bachelor's degree
    or relevant
    Retirement Fund qualification
    .
  • Minimum
    3 years' experience
    in a
    fund accounting role within employee benefits or retirement funds
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    pension fund legislation
    (especially Section 13A) and industry regulations.
  • Advanced
    Excel skills
    (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Experience with
    Everest
    or similar fund administration systems (advantageous).

  • Sound understanding of industry compliance and governance requirements.
