VKB Milling (Pty) Ltd is one of four subsidiaries of VKB Agri Processors (Pty) Ltd, the agri-processing division of the VKB Group. The VKB Group is a significant role player in the agricultural industry in South Africa and strives, through best practices, continuous improvement and world-class operations, to add meaningful value to the industry.

VKB Milling (Pty) Ltd operates white maize mills in Mokopane and Louis Trichardt in Limpopo, and Mashishing in Mpumalanga, a wheat mill in Frankfort in the Free State as well as a maize mill in Christiana and a Wheat Mill in Modderrivier in the Northern Cape.

Job Description

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the cost accounting functions and leading a team of assistant accountants and inventory controllers.

This involves 3 sites: Mokopane, Lydenburg and Louis Trichardt.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification (e.g. CIMA) preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Valid Drivers licence and own vehicle.
• The 3 sites have to be visited frequently and is a requirement of the position.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of assistant accountants and inventory controllers to ensure high performance and professional growth.
• Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and provide actionable insights to management.
• Forecasting: Lead the forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management, highlighting key cost drivers and variances.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Controls: Implement accurate control measures

Skills Required

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Previous NAVISION experience will be an added advantage
