We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Food Technologist to support our operations in the manufacturing of edible oil, rice, and margarine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of food production processes. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product standards and developing new or improved food products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with food safety standards, including HACCP, ISO, and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Oversee quality control processes during production of oil, rice, and margarine.
- Develop, trial, and implement new product formulations and process improvements.
- Conduct shelf-life testing, sensory evaluation, and nutritional analysis.
- Monitor raw material and finished product specifications.
- Liaise with production, procurement, and maintenance teams to address quality-related issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation for traceability, audits, and compliance.
- Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure proper lab testing and microbiological sampling of products.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
Requirements:Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- HACCP certification is required; ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 knowledge is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in edible oil, rice milling, or margarine production.
- Experience in a QA/QC or R&D role within the food and beverage industry.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of food safety systems, processing equipment, and regulatory requirements.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- Computer literacy (MS Office, quality management systems, lab data analysis software).
Working Conditions:
- Production floor, laboratory, and office-based work.
- May require flexible hours based on production schedules or testing deadlines.
- PPE must be worn in manufacturing areas.
