Job Description

To lead the team that ensures accurate statutory and regulatory reporting requirements and deliverables to monitors and controls the direction, allocation, and usage of its financial resources in RMB Financial Services

  • Submit financial regulatory returns to FirstRand to fulfil SARB and SARS requirements
  • Ensure organisation wide income statement and balance sheet is accurately completed
  • Act as an interface between local team, Group Reporting teams/Company Secretary and auditors
  • Lead the balance sheet and cash flow budgeting process to accurately forecast monthly cash flow to detect underlying issues
  • Track remediation actions to ensure effective and timely responses to control review outcomes
  • Drive all financial internal and external audit findings to a timely and comprehensive closure in adherence to Group or regional policies
  • Drive consistency in financial/business processes, risk assessments and key controls in the regions, aligned with the Financial Control Framework
  • Implement, maintain and update Financial Controls risks and controls documentation ensuring that robust and effective financial controls are in place across the business
  • Review and analyse business processes, including related systems to simplify and streamline the processes to achieve efficiency and good internal controls in supporting accounting and bank reconciliation
  • Monitor and review business processes and systems for effective and efficient operations, and propose and suggest improvements as required
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountability
  • Review existing processes and suggest innovative ideas to improve and streamline processes to drive efficiencies and minimise redundancy
  • Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence, or information, together with analysing trends and data
  • Participate and contribute to a development culture where information regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas are actively shared
