We're a relatively new, customer-focused restaurant looking for a skilled and passionate full-time sushi chef.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of our kitchen, preparing beautiful, high-quality sushi that delights our guests and reflects our commitment to excellence and creativity in plant-based Asian cuisine.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of sushi including nigiri, maki, inari, battleship and kimbap with precision and speed
  • Maintain the freshness and proper handling of all ingredients, especially rice, seaweed, and plant-based fillings
  • Ensure all sushi is presented to a high standard, both visually and in taste
  • Monitor inventory of sushi-related items and communicate restocking needs
  • Maintain a clean and organized sushi station in compliance with hygiene standards
  • Assist with prep work and collaborate with the kitchen team for efficient service flow
  • Occasionally interact with customers at the counter or during open-kitchen moments
  • Shifts: 11am – 9pm, 6 days a week

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a sushi chef or in a Japanese/Asian kitchen setting
  • Strong knife skills and understanding of sushi-making techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and consistency
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for plant-based cuisine is a strong plus
