POSITION SUMMARY

This role offers a great opportunity for the candidate to learn and develop financial and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will support the Finance team in the Africa Region, with a particular focus on North-West and East Africa. Responsibilities will include assisting with financial reporting, analysis, and planning activities. A willingness to learn and a strong background in both finance and analytics are essential.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes for the Africa Region, focusing on North-West and East Africa.
  • Assist in preparing variance analyses, revenue commentary, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
  • Review and update key financial files and reports, including distributor revenue reports and Volume Exchange Mix and Price (VEMP) files.

Planning & Forecasting

  • Contribute to the development of forecasts and budgets by gathering relevant data, preparing templates, and supporting the Commercial team during planning cycles.
  • Assist with the finalization and submission of budget and forecast materials.
  • Help ensure consistency and accuracy in planning data and provide insights on trends and key drivers.

Presentation & Communication

  • Update and refresh monthly presentation decks (Excel and PowerPoint) for management and commercial teams.
  • Prepare summaries and commentary for financial results and performance reviews.
  • Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Cross-Functional Support & Ad Hoc Tasks

  • Collaborate with commercial and support teams to gather information and support business initiatives.
  • Provide analytical support for cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and other ad hoc requests from the Commercial teams.
  • Assist with data validation, process improvements, and special projects as assigned.

Compliance

  • Ensure the monthly SOX control checklist is compiled and completed.
  • Assist with queries during annual statutory and internal audits.

Monthly finance adjustments

  • Assist with the calculations of the sales return provision and undelivered stock adjustments.
  • Assist with rebate accrual analysis and adjustment
  • Process ad hoc journals as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Finance or Business Analytics degree.
  • Analytical background preferred

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • High profeciency in excel
  • Proficient in Powerpoint
  • Ability to analyze financial data and identify key issues
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to build relationships with commercial teams
  • Good verbal fluency
  • General computer literacy (Microsoft suite)
  • Experinece with SAP and Power BI beneficial
