Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the structural design of complex mining and industrial infrastructure (shafts, plants, steel/concrete structures, dams, etc.).
  • Deliver and oversee engineering content including drawings, calculations, and technical documents.
  • Ensure compliance with national (SANS) and international standards.
  • Engage with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to drive design and project outcomes.
  • Mentor Junior Engineers and sign off on critical project deliverables as a Pr Eng.
  • Contribute to tender processes, budgets, and construction support.
  • Manage team resources, hours, and performance in alignment with business strategy.

Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):

  • BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
  • ECSA Pr Eng registration (minimum 3 years post-registration)
  • 7–10+ years in consulting, ideally in mining or heavy infrastructure
  • Proven project delivery in EPCM environments
  • Strong background in reinforced concrete, steel, and foundation design
  • Design tools such as Robot, Revit, Civil 3D, and Navisworks
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Advanced modelling and information management skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities
