Norwood - AU PAIR - AFTERNOONS

Area: Norwood

Ages: 6 year old in Grade R

Working hours: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 15:00 – 18:00. Thurs: 14:00 - 18:00. Some Saturdays may be required, but this will be asked in advance and paid additionally.

Holiday Hours: Same hours as above

Duties: Collect from school, take to extra murals and appointments, assist with any school related homework or projects. Supervise reading. Engage in fun stimulating play and activities. Take child to art exhibitions, the planetarium and museums etc. Ensure bags are unpacked and packed for the following day (to please supervise the child while the child packs and unpacks his own bag).

Requirements: Young male or female candidate (20s) with experience with the age group. Reliable vehicle and able to speak Sesotho, IsiZulu or IsiXhosa. We would like someone who aligns with our family values and who will take the time to broadly understand the Montessori method of education, which fosters independence, critical thinking and (e.g. as mentioned above, our son will pack and unpack his own bags, supervised by the au pair). It's very important to us that the au pair follows through on our family values and discipline approach which is very much aligned with the Montessori values of "Grace and Courtesy" (no physical discipline/corporal punishment, no shouting, but keeping the child accountable always).

Start date: 12 January Permanent role

Salary: R9000 - R9500 per month (gross, before deductions) plus SARS Rates (R4.76) per km

All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:

**** Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.

****Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.

****Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.

****Must have a clear criminal record

****Must have a passion for children

****Must have Matric

****Must have a South African ID document.
