Our company is looking for a Mechanic Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

* Updates maintenance and repair logs;

* Assists with inventory maintenance of replacement parts and equipment;

* Inspects tools and equipment to ensure that they are in working order;

* Cleans the shop/yard and returns tools to proper locations;

* Performs other duties as assigned;

* Conducts safety checks on vehicles;

* Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures;

* Assists senior technicians in the completion of project work;

* Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards;

* Performs minor repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services;

* Completes required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times;

* Assists with service calls for breakdowns;

* Assists in the repair and adjustment of equipment;

* Performs other maintenance related work as required.

Requirements:

* Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach and move as needed;

* Exposure to gasoline vapors and other mechanics fluids;

* High school diploma or equivalent;

* Must be at least 18 years of age;

* 1+ years of experience in heavy equipment or auto repair desirable;

* Excellent mechanical skills;

* Ability to multitask and work independently;

* Must have, or be willing to acquire, a driver's license and must have an insurable driving record;

* Able to lift up to 25kg;

* Able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed;

* Must be able to work in the field, as needed, in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold;

* Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

* Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position;

* Ability to use hand and power tools.

Pay: From R7 500,00 per month
