What You'll Do
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in the financial success and efficiency of our projects by overseeing all cost-related aspects — from early feasibility studies to final account settlement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies.
- Evaluate tenders and negotiate with contractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and manage contract documentation including bills of quantities.
- Monitor and control project expenditure and progress claims.
- Conduct site measurements and valuations.
- Manage subcontractor accounts and ensure timely payments.
- Support project teams with cost advice, change control, and risk management.
- Assist with procurement and ensure compliance with project specs and timelines.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior management.
- Work closely with clients, engineers, and site managers to ensure value for money and contractual clarity.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in the South African construction industry.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts (JBCC, NEC, FIDIC, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cost planning, tendering, and project accounting.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and industry software (e.g., CCS Candy, BuildSmart).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a team player.
- Valid driver's license and own transport.
