Job Responsibilities:SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:Manage SHEQ compliance within the Section through effective use of the ToolboxUtilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ statusPEOPLE:Manage the Section:Ensure enabling climate/cultureMaintain labour stabilityManage performance against set targets and competenciesPrepare operational plans for the mine, and monitor costs and report progressEnsure discipline is maintainedLead the mine operations mining and engineering team and manage all mining personnel and resourcesCoach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levelsOversee the recruitment. Interviews and development of superintendents, supervisors, and operators, providing support and guidance to build an effective workforceContribute to business strategy to improve company's competitiveness, profitability and growth.CUSTOMERS:Maintain and improve relationships with all internal and external customers.BUSINESS PROCESSES:Mining Management:Assist in the control, management and direction of the underground working of the mineStrategic Planning:Assist with the compiling of the Mine Strategic Plan (1-5 years)Accurately forecast & control mining & scheduling of mining and shutdown work according to the defined mining & engineering requirements.Tactical Planning:Control the Tactical Plan (< 1 year).Maintenance Management:Jointly define annual service level agreements with site maintenance personnelPut systems and controls in place that will ensure that the site is maintained (e.g. Scrutinize and Control overtime abuse):at specified performance and within prescribed technical & legal requirements,that will permit a safe and environmentally acceptable operation, andto meet the required production-rated capacity at minimum life cycle costs.GROWTHManage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence.SHAREHOLDER VALUEManage the section cost.Minimum Qualifications and Experience:Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency (Mining)Degree or Diploma in Mining would be advantageousAt least 6 years' mining experience, of which 2 years should be mining managerial experienceMinimum of 4 years holder of a Blasting Certificate.Competencies Required:Safety LeadershipInnovationLeadership & Change LeadershipPlanning and Schedule work cost effectively, Organising & ControlResults OrientationProblem Solving & Decision MakingAligning Performance for SuccessCommunicationBuilding strong teamsBusiness AcumenPlease attach relevant certified copies of qualifications to your application.
