Job Summary:
The technical support specialist provides Level 1 helpdesk support to users within a hospital environment on a variety of devices including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, medical equipment and other IT peripheral equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assessing user requirements and providing solutions in line with business objectives.

• Analysing system logs, diagnosing problems, troubleshooting and resolving issues using available tools and resources.

• Identifying recurring problems and escalating them to Level 2 or Level 3 support teams for resolution.

• Providing assistance and guidance to end-users in a professional manner.

• Maintaining accurate records of all support requests and actions taken.

• Installation of software applications as required by users.

• Troubleshooting and repairing hardware faults where possible.

• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as disk cleanups, patching and upgrades.

• Monitoring network performance and identifying potential bottlenecks.

• Managing tickets efficiently and ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements.

Job Qualifications:

• A degree/diploma in Information Technology or equivalent experience.

• Experience in supporting Windows desktop and laptop computers and their associated software packages.

• Good knowledge of Active Directory and group policy management.

• Familiarity with MS Exchange Server administration.

• Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.

• Understanding of ITIL processes and methodologies.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Highly developed problem solving and analytical skills.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to take ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks.
