SPORTS COORDINATOR

SAHETI School is an independent, co-educational, English-medium school

dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, whilst promoting the values and ethos of

Hellenism. The school is situated in Bedfordview, Johannesburg.

The successful candidate must be an experienced and well-qualified coach who holds an

appropriate academic and professional education qualification from a recognised

institution.

The Sports Coordinator and PE Teacher is responsible for developing and managing the

school's sports programme and delivering engaging physical education lessons. The role

involves promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among learners, while

coordinating all school sporting activities and events.

• Recognised bachelor's degree / diploma in the sports management / exercise

science field;

• SACE certificate required;
• 5 years' experience as a Physical Education teacher and sports coach;
• Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills;
• Proven experience in sports coordination and PE instruction;
• Police clearance;

Physical education teaching:

• Develop and implement comprehensive physical education curricula for Primary

School students;

• Conduct regular PE lessons, focusing on physical fitness, sports skills, and healthy

lifestyle habits;

• Assess and evaluate student performance and progress in physical education;
• Teach and assess learners' performance in various physical activities and sports;
• Promote physical fitness, health, and wellbeing through engaging lessons;

Sports program coordination and coaching:

• Ensure proper maintenance and availability of sports equipment and facilities;
• Coordinate team practices and training sessions;
• Provide mentorship and support to students;
• Schedule and coordinate sports events and matches;
• Be the MIC of sports in the primary school;
• Collect independent contractor coaches' timesheets and ensure information is

accurate;

• Liaise with external schools, associations, and sports bodies regarding fixtures and

events;

• Schedule sports practices, fixtures, and events;

Any of the following will be advantageous:

• Experience coaching;
• Referee/Umpiring experience or a relevant qualification; and
• A Professional Drivers Permit (PDP);
