Geohydrologist (Borehole Water Projects)

Responsibilities

You will serve as the key Geohydrologist for the project, Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Science (BSc), or equivalent in Hydrogeology, Geohydrology, Hydrology, Geology, Geophysics. responsible for all groundwater-related activities as required by the project scope:

• Siting and Exploration: Conduct detailed desktop studies, hydrocensus, and geophysical surveys to identify optimal borehole drilling locations.
• Drilling and Supervision: Oversee drilling operations to ensure compliance with design specifications and best practice standards.
• Yield Testing: Plan, manage, and interpret constant-rate and step-drawdown yield tests.
• Water Quality Testing: Develop sampling plans and interpret results to assess suitability for potable use, coordinating with accredited laboratories.
• Design Input: Provide technical input on borehole equipping specifications (pumps, pipework, and headworks) based on hydrogeological findings.
• Reporting: Compile comprehensive, professional reports, including technical feasibility studies, test reports, and sign-offs for the client (MISA/ORTDM).
• Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to South African legislation, SACNASP guidelines, and the specific requirements of the MISA tender documentation.
