Group Financial and Compliance Manager

We are currently actively recruiting for a Group Financial and Compliance Manager based in our Pinetown office, a new role which has been created to ensure Maxprop's compliance with South African legislation, oversee financial reporting and administration and manage secretarial functions across the group and our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory compliance with the Companies Act. Financial Intelligence Centre Act, Property Practitioners Act, Protection of Personal Information Act, Income Tax Act and VAT Act
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting across the different companies and business units across the group
  • Co-ordinate external audits for group companies
  • Manage budgeting, variance analysis and financial control systems
  • Manage daily, weekly and monthly cash flows and working capital management
  • Prepare Board packs, agendas and minutes for Board meetings
  • Maintain statutory books and registers for group companies and clients and lodge amendments with CIPC
  • File all annual statutory returns for group companies
  • Develop compliance risk registers and mitigation strategies
  • Conduct compliance audits and monitoring reviews
  • Report compliance status and emerging risks to Executive management
  • Co-ordinate annual training on FICA and POPIA
  • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct across the group

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum degree in Finance / Commerce
  • Preference for candidates who have completed SAICA / SAIPA articles
  • Strong knowledge of South African regulatory frameworks
  • Experience in financial reporting, compliance management and company secretarial work
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
  • Deadline driven
  • Experience with MDA Property Management and Xero accounting software would be advantageous
