24/7 Security Services is seeking a qualified Firearms Instructor / Training Officer to join our Recruitment and Training Department.

The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting induction training, firearm competency assessments, and Reg 21 cyclical training, ensuring our officers maintain the highest operational standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the South African Police Service, Military, or similar environment, with a proven track record as a trainer or range officer
  • PFTC-accredited Instructor Certificate (essential)
  • Proven proficiency in the safe handling, instruction, and assessment of all firearms used in the private security sector
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate training and range records

Compliance

  • Clear Criminal Record
  • Intense knowledge of the Firearms Control Act
  • PSIRA Grade A registered
  • Firearm Competency in Handgun, Shotgun, Self-Loading Rifle
  • Firearm Training Certificate in Handgun, Shotgun, Self-Loading Rifle
  • PFTC statement of results on Handgun, Shotgun, and Self-Loading Rifle training
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Reliable transport

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct induction, firearm competency, and refresher training for security personnel
  • Oversee Reg 21 cyclical training and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
  • Support the Recruitment and Training Department with the vetting and onboarding of new recruits
  • Ensure all training activities comply with PFTC and PSIRA regulations
  • Maintain discipline, safety, and professionalism on the shooting range
