The Financial Manager will oversee the entire financial function of the company, ensuring financial reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial control to support business growth.

Salary: R50,000 – R60,000 per month.

Key Responsibilities:

The Financial Manager will oversee the entire financial function of the company, ensuring financial reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial control to support business growth.

  1. Financial Reporting and Control

  2. Oversee and manage the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements.

  3. Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or appropriate accounting frameworks.
  4. Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and the maintenance of the fixed asset register.

  5. Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  6. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis

  7. Lead the annual budgeting process and the preparation of ongoing financial forecasts.

  8. Conduct variance analysis against budget and prior periods, providing detailed commentary and strategic recommendations to executive management.

  9. Perform cost analysis for key service lines (e.g., mobile medicals, training programs) to ensure optimal pricing and profitability.

  10. Cash Flow and Treasury Management

  11. Monitor and manage the company's daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.

  12. Oversee debtors (Accounts Receivable) and creditors (Accounts Payable) functions to minimize risk and optimize working capital.

  13. Tax and Statutory Compliance

  14. Ensure the company is fully compliant with all relevant South African statutory requirements, including VAT, Income Tax, and PAYE (through payroll oversight).

  15. Liaise effectively with external auditors, tax advisors, and relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., SARS).

  16. Leadership and Administration

  17. Manage and mentor the internal finance and administrative team.

  18. Oversee the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing and compliance.
  19. Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and data integrity.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) or Bachelor of Accounting (B.Acc) degree, or an equivalent qualification with a focus on Financial Accounting.
  • Honours degree is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a dedicated Financial Manager or Financial Controller capacity.
  • Experience in the service industry or a corporate client environment is beneficial.
  • Certifications (Highly Preferred):
  • Membership with a professional body (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA) is highly advantageous.

Skills and Proficiencies:

  • Expert knowledge of relevant accounting software (e.g., Pastel/Sage, Oracle, etc.) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of South African tax legislation and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business information.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
