Key purpose:
As a Test Manager, you will be responsible for the management of all testing activities within the company. This includes managing our internal test team as well as working closely with QA engineers to create and manage new testing methods. Your responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining automated test suites, developing custom automation tools, using JavaScript unit tests in combination with Selenium (Web driver) based testing and providing regular updates on your progress throughout this role.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage the administration of testing scripts (including unit, integration, capacity, system, user acceptance and release) to maintain compatibility with existing applications, hardware and devices
- Prepare and submit detailed test reports to describe testing outcomes and assist developers in resolving of defects
- Improve software quality through the development of skills, processes and tools used to design, build and test systems
- Maintain the information, technology and communication (ICT) quality management policies and processes that drive improvements in performance and customer satisfaction
- Test business solution processes for compliance against documented standards and provide input to improvement programs that enhance the quality of services to the business
- Coordinate and participate in HR recruit processes
- Manage performance of multicultural team through collaborative leadership
- Manage risk and dependencies
- Managing and coordinating deliver of multiple vendors or service providers
- Define defect and test management processes where applicable
- Manage execution of STLC activities for User Acceptance Testing
- Oversees projects/initiatives to make sure work is scheduled based on business priorities, risks and team capacity
- Allocate resources capacity based on business priorities, risks and individual team members strengths
- Support testing activities and creation of detailed UAT Test Plans(s), Test Approach(s), Test Case(s) and Test Completion Reports including identification of test data and review of documentation
- Collaboration with domain experts, internal and external stakeholders integrating them with the project schedule
- Plan UAT activities and refine UAT effort estimate as needed
- Coordinate overall defect management for all UAT initiatives, including escalation and reporting
- Provides suitable solutions and advise for issues/errors based on the understanding of the system and client business processes (Using previous experience)
- Collaborate with team members to support release planning, estimation, and delivery processes
- Accountable for test data identification and management
- Assist in coordination of final business signoffs
- Reports on overall testing progress within SDLC and STLC framework
- Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations through defined engagement model
- Analyse, interpret, and summarize test data and metrics, and communicate the results to project team, stakeholders, and management
- Reviews client requirement and prepare high-level effort estimates for proposed projects, enhancements or defects
- Recommend defect resolution approach based on RCA
- Provide input to, or participate in, process improvement activities
- Recognize problems and respond, systematically gather information, sort through complex issues, seek input from others, identify and report root cause of issues, make timely decisions, use consensus when possible, communicate decisions to others
- Create reports when needed as part of stakeholder management
- Assists in coaching junior staff, by helping them to make decisions, solve problems, manage meetings and set goals and assigning testing responsibilities
- Assists in recruiting new staff, conducting interviews and evaluating potential candidates
- Develops and maintains tools for verifying functionalities in a web application
- Works closely with the development team to identify areas for improvement
- Sets up, runs, and records tests for automated regression and functional testing, using any available automation testing tools
- Performs root cause analysis in response to test failure reports
- Ensures that automated builds and test results are available for developers as needed
- Collaborates with software development teams to ensure effective test management throughout the project
Qualifications and experience:
- IT Qualification or Equivalent Degree
- International software testing qualifications board (ISTQB) Foundation or Test Analyst Advance Certification
- 5 Years software testing experience
- 5 years experience in team management
- Experience in developing test automation tools and frameworks and knowledge of unit testing practices
- Experience in web development required
- Computer skills especially MS Office and Business Process Management tools
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze business processes and workflows
- Familiarity with Project Management will be an advantage
- Lean Six Sigma will be an advantage
- Video Entertainment experience will be an advantage
