About The Organisation And The Role
Ywaste is a social enterprise that in 8 years has grown from a family business to an operation which diverts over 300 tons of food waste from landfills every month. Ywaste focuses on effective and responsible management of food waste and conversion to compost which reduces the contribution food waste makes to landfill proliferation. This also enables the replenishment of the soil, which in turn, leads to a better world.

They are looking for an organised and efficient Bookkeeper with good attention to detail to join their team and support their business operations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Debtor management
  • Onboarding of clients
  • Preparing of quotes
  • Issuing of invoices.
  • Issuing of statements.
  • Bank account reconciliations.
  • Creditor management
  • Preparing payments report
  • VAT.
  • Reporting
  • Monitor and report on cash flow.
  • Forwarding relevant information to accountant for weekly reporting.
  • General Administration
  • Provide general administrative support as and when required.

Required Skills & Experience
The ideal applicant will have the following competencies:

  • Work experience and industry exposure
  • Finance-related qualification is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in an administrative role with exposure to Sage or a related accounting package.
  • Experience working in a social enterprise is an advantage.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Able to communicate telephonically in an efficient manner.
  • A friendly and accessible individual able to manage difficult situations and personalities in a calm and rational manner.
  • Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to respond to queries and deal with complaints.
  • Excellent Administration and Organisational Skills
  • Highly organised and efficient individual who can multitask and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Systems oriented with excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive team player who is contribution-focussed.
  • A flexible individual who is able to work autonomously while maintaining open channels of communication with a team.
  • A logical thinker comfortable working in an unstructured environment and able to work well across cross-functional teams.

  • An honest and ethical individual who takes pride in their work.
  • A numerate individual with a basic understanding of the principles of bookkeeping.
  • Open to learning new systems and other ways of working, and a willingness to grow with the business.
  • Customer focussed and friendly with a passion for service excellence.
  • Driver's licence and own transport is desirable.
