A well-established industrial group is seeking an experienced
Site Manager
to oversee operations at a material-processing site. This role requires strong leadership, excellent equipment management skills, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Location:
Vanderbijlpark site

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Lead a strong safety culture and ensure all site-specific safety protocols are followed.
  • Keep all training, safety files, and documentation up to date.
  • Ensure safe execution of all tasks with the goal of achieving Zero Lost Time Incidents.

Equipment Uptime & Maintenance

  • Maintain maximum uptime on all heavy/yellow equipment.
  • Develop and manage maintenance schedules, allocate daily tasks to artisans, and ensure timely completion.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns and drive a proactive maintenance culture.

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Communicate clearly with the site team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Escalate bottlenecks early and ensure issues are resolved without impacting operations.

Reporting & Accountability

  • Provide weekly performance reports to management.
  • Track and report daily equipment uptime, including reasons for missed targets.
  • Drive accountability across the team and ensure everyone understands their roles.

Operational Execution

  • Implement project structures and strategies that support efficiency and high standards.
  • Maintain strict housekeeping standards across the site.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all processed material meets required customer specifications for size and quality.

Administration & Controls

  • Complete accurate timesheets and submit them to HR by deadline.
  • Manage suppliers, issue purchase orders, follow up on invoices, and ensure timely completion of outsourced work.
  • Monitor and control all site-related costs and spending.

Requirements

  • 7+ years
    experience as a Site Manager in a heavy equipment/yellow equipment environment.
  • Matric (Grade 12)
    is essential.
  • Proficiency in
    Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
    , and strong technical report-writing ability.
  • A background or qualification in
    Project Management or Engineering
    is advantageous.
