Purpose of the job

Ensure smooth, timeous (fast) and accurate loading and unloading of all vehicles, inbound and outbound.

Act as the second in charge, person responsible of the department  when the depot manager is not on shift or on leave.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle, stock and trip reconciliation:

·
    Reconcile POD's, collection of documentation from deliveries and depots.

· Check each POD for date, full name and signature of the receiving clerk or company stamp, name and date.

· Ensure vehicle cleanliness, forklifts and trucks as well as vehicle pre trip inspections compiled daily and any defects reported and or not reported are attended to and the relevant employees responsible for causing the damage are held accountable.

· Physically check every single product that is loaded out of the depot to ensure it matches to the corresponding load sheet.

· Record expiry dates of all products whilst loading to ensure perfect trackability.

· Take control of the forklifts on site and ensure swift coordination of movement of stock between factories and receiving of incoming raw materials and ensuring perfect cold chain.

· Take ownership for the cleanliness of all outside areas together with the cleaner and the forklift operators.

· Control and account for all CHEP pallet movements and reconciliation.

General Administrative Support:

·
Compile daily/weekly reports as required by the management structure/s.

· Provide general support in all support related areas.

· Handle general enquiries appropriately.

· Comply with company practices and procedures in respect of administration.

Requirements / qualifications

· Grade 12 or equivalent level (preferred)

· Courses/skills programmes completed relevant to the role.

Knowledge

· Strong knowledge of delivery processes and procedures.

· Good knowledge of general administrative processes.

· Previous experience working shifts and dealing with night-shift rosters.

Skills and Competencies:

· Detail and protocol focussed.

· Strong administration.

· Solid communication.

· Good people skills.

· Time management.

· Computer literate in Microsoft excel, and word.

· Customer Service focus.

· Diligent and dedicated worker

· Good disciplinary record

· Good Track Record of previous similar portrayed position.
